Feast of the Einherjar, A Night to Remember

By Harvala Heathor, Gythia of Raven Folk United, Trufolk Kindred

This past weekend, our folk gathered for a powerful and heartfelt Feast of the Einherjar Blót. With kinsmen and kindred traveling from near and far, we stood together under the open sky beside the sea, a reminder of the eternal connection between the realms of the living and the honored dead.

From the morning sun to the starlit night, the day was filled with joy, remembrance, and Frith. Families and children joined in laughter, paddleboarding, and sharing food in good company. As the sun set, torches were lit, and we stood united around the longship built by Goði Kevin Long, his eighth ship, crafted with skill and reverence. This one carried our offerings and prayers to the gods, ancestors, and the heroes who walk beyond the veil.

Our kindred grows… in number, in heart, and in purpose. About forty souls gathered with us this year, including, children, new friends, and faces who came to stand in the sacred circle for the first time. Together, we honored those who came before and renewed our oath to live with courage, honor, and truth.

Next year will mark something truly special, the ninth longship. Each year’s vessel has carried our offerings and our memories, and with the ninth, we reach a sacred turning, a number of completion and renewal in our tradition. We look forward to that day with anticipation, pride, and gratitude for the strength of our folk.

What a great time to be among the Folk, to have Kindred, to stand together, and to walk with the Gods and Ancestors.

Blessing of the Einherjar

Hail to the brave, who fell and rose again in the halls of the mighty.

Hail to the ancestors, who guide our hands and guard our hearths.

Hail to the Folk, bound in Frith and Fire.

May courage be our torch, honor our shield, and love our bond.

Tyr watch over our deeds, and the Einherjar march beside us, now and always.
