Harii Midsummer

If you are reading Kershaw or Tacitus, the Harii are a formidable tribe of ecstatic warriors from our Germanic past. If you ask me, I’d agree and add that they’re alive today.
This solstice was the 9th year of the Harii Midsummer tradition. Each of us were honored to be among the first intra-tribal guests to join in the rituals and customs of today’s Harii.
Activities included a 5-mile trail run, stamina dance competition, and sparring rounds between all men present. We tested our abilities and built respect between individuals.

Baldr's funeral and subsequent pyre gave pause for the sacrifices that must be made to overcome the Ragnarok to come. The Harii ritual brought in powerful elements I had not witnessed nor given in other prayers. I am thankful for their generosity towards us in sharing such sacred space and energy.
Combined efforts lead to shared victories. Many hands make light work and distribute the load. Specialization of highly trained individuals enables complicated tasks to be completed faster and more efficiently.
Through our discussions the solutions included:
Show up. Participate.
Do the things.
Lead with love.
Destruction is easy, maybe eternal.
Creation is difficult; it requires resources, time, and focus.
When what already exists finds alignment with those leading towards the best path to a sustainable future, followers will follow, their assets and energy added to the movement. Our tribes are building bridges with aligned folk. The web of wyrd being woven now has power and intention. Successes will be shared and celebrated with those who join and contribute to the well-being and longevity of our folk. Let us find our voices and talents to add to the chorus and dance. We will rise to this occasion. Are you with us?
