Fulla: Goddess of Love, Fertility, and Marriage
Frigg sent her handmaiden, Fulla, to Geirröth. She bade the king beware, lest a magician who was come thither to his land should bewitch him, and told this sign concerning him, that no dog was so fierce as to leap at him.
(Grimnismal)
"She is also a virgin and goes around with her hair flowing free and has a gold band around her head. She carries Frigg’s casket and looks after her footwear and shares her secrets.” (Gylfaginning 35)
“Then Hermod got up and Baldr went with him out of the hall and took the ring Draupnir and sent it to Odin for a keepsake, and Nanna sent Frigg a linen robe and other gifts too; to Fulla finger-ring.” (Gylf. 49)
Fulla is a handmaiden to Frigg. But it is clear that her place is a close tie to Frigg and her family. As when Baldr sends back gifting from Hel, he includes her in the gifts, and she is the one who is privy to all of Frigg’s secrets.
She is mentioned as the bearer of Frigg’s casket. Casket as in an ashen box. These ashen boxes are mentioned a few times in our lore and they hold within them important treasures. It is never made clear what she is in charge of safe-guarding in the casket for Frigg, but we can infer its importance and the trust that Frigg must have for Fulla.
We know from her mention in the Merseburg Charm that she must have wielded powerful magic and would have most likely been the equal to or just about, there with Frigg and Odin and Sunna and Sinthgunt.
"Phol and Wodan
rode into the woods,
There Balder’s foal
sprained its foot.
It was charmed by Sinthgunt,
her sister Sunna;
It was charmed by Frija,
her sister Volla;
It was charmed by Wodan,
as he well knew how:"
Fulla’s name means abundance and plenty. She is the Goddess who embodies loyalty, devotion. She is also the one who protects the sanctity of the marriage bonds. It is she who we can call on for those marriage blessings, as well as guidance in the realm of love and devotion.
Items associated with Fulla are gold jewelry (abundance, prosperity) and flowers, specifically the lily (fertility, purity and beauty).
