New Dróttnari for the Männerbund

When asked where the Spartan borders were, a great warrior once said "As much land as they can reach with a spear." When one speaks of a nation, one must speak of borders, and that Spartan warrior spoke the truth in what he said, because truly the borders of a nation are only the land they can protect with the men they have and the spears they wield. If a folk nation is to be built and grown, then it, too, must have borders, and they will be enforced only by the men of the folk. It is the duty of each man to protect his home and his family, because nobody else will do it, and so too is it the duty of the men of the folk to protect their tribe because nobody else will do it. We of the Männerbund, the warband, are not sworn to our folk because we seek to be strong and capable of violence for our own reasons but instead because we find ourselves called to by the duty to our tribe who require of us that strength and capacity. We are all that stands between the lineage, the birthright, the epic story of our great and venerable ancestors, and the great silent abyss that seeks to swallow the sun and quiet the songs we sing of our heroes. I recognize the threat before us, and I, just like the men who came before me, and I hope like those who come after, am prepared to accept the weight of the spear; and to teach our men to bear its weight also so that the darkness may never consume our folk and our borders may remain forever strong. It is with this in mind that I hereby make a promise to the great people of Raven Folk United to protect and defend each and every one of you to the best of my ability and to teach our men to do so also. I am profoundly grateful therefore to accept the newly established position of Dróttnari (Ruler, or in this case leader of the Männerbund) of Raven Folk United.
